Lead management

Every new inquiry becomes a lead with an owner and a next step.

Leads that start in a message don’t fill in forms. inChat turns the conversation itself into a lead: source recorded, owner assigned, interest captured and a follow-up waiting if they go quiet.

The job it does

Leads don’t get lost. They get forgotten.

Most lost leads weren’t rejected. They asked a question, got a slow or partial answer, and nobody followed up. In messaging, a lead is easy to start and just as easy to drop.

Without it

  • Inquiries arrive as messages, with no record created
  • No one knows how many new leads came in this week
  • Unanswered leads look the same as finished ones
  • Source and interest never written down

With inChat

  • A lead record for every new conversation
  • An owner from the first minute
  • Status from new to qualified, or closed out with a reason
  • Follow-ups that fire if the lead goes quiet
Capabilities

What lead management includes.

Leads from conversations

A first message from a new number or handle creates a lead, with the channel and number recorded as the source.

Assigned instantly

Routing rules give every lead an owner, or leave it visibly unassigned.

Simple lead statuses

New, contacted, qualified, not a fit. Customize them to match your process.

Follow-up on silence

If a lead stops replying, a reminder or a follow-up step starts. Both stop the moment they reply.

Qualification

Know which leads to spend your afternoon on.

Qualification in chat happens over several messages, not one form. Record answers as fields as they come up, and the lead list shows who’s ready for a quote. The AI qualification assistant, still in development, can highlight answers in the thread for you to confirm.

  • Qualification fields on every lead
  • A required “close-out reason” for leads you drop
  • Filter leads by source, interest and status
  • Convert a lead to a deal in one step

How it works

Getting started, step by step.

  1. Define what a lead is

Any first message from a new contact, or only certain numbers or channels? Decide, then let routing do the rest.

  2. Agree on statuses and close-out reasons

Short lists work best. “Not a fit” and “no response” tell you different things.

  3. Set the follow-up rule

For example, a reminder after a day of silence and a final check-in after a week.

  4. Review the lead list weekly

Look at leads by source and status to see where good inquiries come from.

Lead management FAQ

Questions about lead management.

What it does, how it’s designed, and what’s still being decided.

Ask us something else

A contact is a person. A lead is a person (or opportunity) you’re still qualifying. In inChat, a new conversation creates the contact and the lead together; when a lead is qualified, it becomes a deal in your pipeline.

Not yet. Form and website integrations aren’t available and haven’t been scheduled. The launch focus is leads that arrive by WhatsApp and SMS.

It’s in development as part of the launch scope. inChat is in early access.
